How must the surface be prepared for Farrow & Ball paints?

Ensure that the surface is undamaged, clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other matter. Apply Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat by Farrow & Ball to promote adhesion and color depth.

Prepare unfinished gypsum walls and unfinished plasterboard walls:

For highly absorbent, bare surfaces, Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat may be diluted with up to 50 percent water.

The dilution ratio depends on the porosity of the surface. It is recommended that a test be made first to check if further dilution is required.

Preparation of already painted non-porous surfaces:

You can either apply the finish (Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion) directly or apply Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat first.

Preparation of glossy surfaces or surfaces treated with oil paints:

These should be sanded well before painting. You can either apply the finish (Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion) directly or apply Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat beforehand.
