Paints for clay surfaces

These paints are particularly well suited for clay plaster.

Paints for clay substrates are ideally particularly low in tension and open to diffusion (breathable).

The latter enables air humidity regulation and ensures a pleasant indoor climate.

Of our paints, two are particularly well suited for clay substrates:

  1. LeCorbusier paints are high-quality mineral silicate paints that are highly diffusible and low in tension. On raw, untreated clay substrates, you can apply them directly (diluted with water; 10-15% for the first coat!) or you can apply polyChro Fond in advance.
  2. Farrow & Ball Casein Distemper : This is a natural casein paint. Casein paints are now often marketed in Germany as so-called "clay paints".
